Dress a child from Gheboaia- 100 children need winter clothes
Afisari: 4,966 The end of the year brings us new humanitarian campaigns initiated by the SinVi Foundation, especially in support of the children from disadvantaged families.Once involved in supporting the community from Gheboaia, Dambovita, through the campaign “Joy in the Box“, we found out that more than 100 children don’t have any winter clothes, being in school dropout because of the inability to cope with weather conditions.Within this campaign, we aim to collect clothing items and shoes especially for cold weather for over 100 disadvantaged children with ages between 3 to 14 years, school pupils or kindergarten children.Sorting and centralization take place in Bucharest and, depending on the location of the donor, we can communicate more addresses where the clothes can be sent to. Joy in a box
Afisari: 3,979 Probably, many of you know about the shoebox campaigns, campaigns focused on collecting small objects that fit inside a shoe box, taking place around the holidays in order to help and bring joy to the ones in need, especially children.The SinVi Foundation runs a campaign called “Joy in a Box” with the main purpose of helping 300 children from Gheboaia, Dambovita.We would be very glad if you could show some support and help us bring happiness to these children with limited possibilities.After a quick visit, we discovered a group of people committed and willing to get involved in their community’s development. Although the pupils are coming from a very rough, limited socio-economic environment, the School of Gheboaia proved to be a favorable climate for learning, as some of its students later graduated from prestigious Universities in Romania. These merits are due to the combined efforts of the students, parents, and also especially to the teachers, whose active involvement is highly appreciated, given the overall context of lack in endowments.Because we are a NGO that promotes education and culture, we would like to thank Mr. Mihai Tarba, the headmaster of the school, who, despite being a young teacher, shows such will and dedication for his mission and an inspiring attitude, that is rare in the nowadays Romanian society.Thank you for coming together with us and we are waiting you, whenever you are available, for a short visit. “Angel and Color”- a campaign supporting the painter Irina Maria Aldea
Afisari: 7,234 Irina Maria Aldea is a 10 year old girl from Pitesti, Romania, who started painting before she was 3 years old, when she had an exhibition with more than 70 paintings at the Library Dinicu Golescu in Pitesti.Irina does oil painting on canvas, a technique difficult to master even for skilled, famous artists.A special talent, Irina is suffering from a rare disease called severe thrombophilia with 3 genetic mutations that causes bleeding or blood clots, with a high risk of heart attack or stroke.At the age of 7 she suffered a stroke, fortunately without any visible consequences.The disease does not exist in the Romanian nomenclature of juvenile diseases with state support and there are no studies or medical professionals on this matter.The only effective treatment consists in blood transfusions enriched with 5 clotting factor, under strict surveillance, at the San Matteo clinic from Pavia, Italy, the only medical center with a history in treating this disease. She has to follow this procedure until the critic age of 12, when she will be able to get the classic medication that she will have to take for the rest of her life.Irina should receive 4 treatment sessions per year but the cost of 10.000 euros per session is too much for her family to support since they are already in debt.Because of this, Irina was not able to arrive in Italy for her treatment for a year. Volunteer Tutoring
Afisari: 549 In collaboration with the General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection from District 6, we started the series of tutoring with children in foster care.The model is the one piloted in the summer of 2015, but we keep improving it. We focus on the basic subjects, like Romanian and Math, which are nationally assessed, but we also help the children with other subjects, if needed. Meanwhile, our little beneficiaries connect with other children volunteers who spark their interest in this kind of work as they start asking when they can become a volunteer as well.This is what continues to motivate us to be better and more innovative, so that at the end of the year we can gather the results of our labor according to our expectations and level of dedication shown throughout these months of intense work. 5/5 (1) Apreciaza
