The year of 2017 comes with changes related to the ways NGOs obtain funding and since we are a foundation that promotes transparency and honesty, it is our duty to share with you the adjustments that occurred.
According to the new ANAF regulations that affected the 230 form as well, the contributor can choose to redirect the 2% out of the income tax to more than one NGO, religious institution or private scholarship.
In this sense, the 230 ANAF form contains an annex where you can add the information of 2 other NGOs besides the one mentioned on the first page of the form. Should you desire to support more than one NGO, the annex must be multiplied accordingly and filled out with the information of all the organizations or people (in the case of private scholarships). This way, if there is not specified an exact sum of money on the form or on the annex, the 2% will be equally split between the chosen beneficiaries (organizations and individuals receiving private scholarships).
We can also say that the new provision represents an advantage for the contributors as it allows them to redirect the 2% towards more organizations that they resonate with, opposite to how things used to be previously when they only had one choice.
At the beginning of January 2017, the threshold of microenterprises has been modified from 100.000 EURO to 500.000 EURO. How does this change affect the NGO sector? Unfortunately, the impact is very serious. Due to this change, the number of firms that can direct 20% out of the tax on profit (but not more than 0.5% out of the annual turnover) towards NGOs has drastically diminished. Currently, income tax of the microenterprises is not eligible for the above mentioned fiscal actions regarding the tax on profit.
As a result, dear person reading this, it is of utmost importance to express your option of helping NGOs. It only costs you a small amount of time to fill out the form and eventually the annex, but we strongly believe that this slight inconvenience is overweighed by the rewarding feeling you receive for helping someone, for having a positive impact on somebody’s life. You can also help us financially by choosing the option that fits best for you.
Should you believe in education, in team work, in volunteer work, then please help us help our beneficiaries (usually children coming from deprived social environments). You can do this until the 25th of May, by filling out the 230 form, but you can also do that by getting involved in our ongoing projects and campaigns.
Thank you for your time and we would gladly welcome you among us,
SinVi Team
